Set on a hillside on the banks of the Loire, on the Loire à Vélo cycle route, enjoy a peaceful stay between Saumur and Montsoreau, in an old restored house in the heart of a 15th-century semi-troglodyte hamlet.
Dating from around 1470, the dwelling has been carefully renovated using traditional materials: tufa stone and oak, wrought iron and linen. The single-storey gîte measures 47m² and can accommodate a maximum of 2 adults.
In the main room, a monumental fireplace in perfect working order awaits you for superb flambées. The four-poster bed has been adapted for the 21st century, measuring 160x200 cm. The chests and sideboards contain pillows and blankets for cosy comfort. A television and wifi internet connection (included in the price) keep you in touch with the outside world.
The troglodyte kitchen is equipped with an electric cooker with oven, extractor fan, fridge, washing machine with dryer, microwave, coffee machine and toaster.
The bathroom has a walk-in shower, washbasin, WC and heated towel rail.
Outside, there is a small terrace with garden furniture and sun loungers. There is also a lockable storage area for your bicycles.
The gîte is close to the Saumur-Champigny vineyards, the châteaux of Saumur, Montsoreau and Brézé, Fontevraud Abbey, the GR3 hiking trail and the Loire cycle route.
Access to the gîte is via a road with a steep slope accessible by car (see photo). Parking is available in the owner's small courtyard or on the street below, without climbing the slope.
Baby equipment is available on request (high chair, bath, changing table), as well as an iron and ironing board in the gîte.
Additional charges: electricity over 8 kwh per day (current EDF rate), electric and wood heating (10.00e per basket - first flambé free), tourist tax.
Weekly bookings only from Saturday to Saturday
