The peaceful gardens, the Museum of Modern Art and the cultural programme make it a complete and enchanting place to visit.

Named the Giant of the Loire Valley, this castle impresses with its seven storeys and striking silhouette. Still inhabited by the same family, it houses refined salons, painting galleries and even a Belle Epoque theatre. Outside, take time to stroll through the landscaped grounds. At the end of your visit, sample the estate's wines before browsing the boutique in search of a souvenir.

Dive underground into this unique troglodyte site where more than 1500 years of history have made a quarry of mèrovingian sarcophagi, a chapel and successive dwellings dug into the falun. Between mystery and listed heritage, each gallery reveals the ingenuity and daily life of days gone by. The guided or self-guided tour offers a fascinating immersion into a rarely explored underground world.

Explore the caves and discover this underground village, where the inhabitants have chosen to live underground...  kitchens, bedrooms, tables and chapel carved into the rock testify to several centuries of troglodytic life. A stunning and authentic immersion in an unusual way of life.

This 17th-century windmill, which is still in operation, lets you watch milling demonstrations and discover the secrets of an age-old skill. The smell of flour, the clatter of gears and the manipulation of tools will take you on a sensory tour.

Take a tour of "La Sablière", a large gallery dedicated to artistic expression, where you can admire magnificent contemporary sculptures.  A surprising visit that will delight young and old alike. Dive into the world of the crafts of yesteryear with a visit to this fascinating museum housed in beautiful historic buildings, where more than 17,000 tools and objects tell the story of craft and rural life in the early 20th century. At the heart of a former slate quarry site, the Musée de l’Ardoise invites you toà dédiscover more than 600 years of history and know-how surrounding this emblematic stone of Anjou, through exhibitions, objects and original machines. See a spectacular slate split demonstration and explore a unique natural site marked by old quarries and mining landscapes.  

Installed in a former factory, the Musée des Métiers de la Chaussure plunges you into the fascinating world of shoe-making, between traditional know-how and industry emblematic of the Mauges. Centuries-old machines in operation, collections of shoes and interactive devices reveal the secrets behind the creation of this everyday object.  

The Musée des Blindés is one of the largest museums of armoured vehicles;with an exceptional collection of 250 vehicles tracing the evolution of armour from the First World War to the present day. Take a tour of the exhibition halls where these impressive machines tell the military story in a captivating way for young and old alike.

Le Refuge de l'Arche is an animal sanctuary where nearly a thousand animals rescued from situations of destitution find refuge and tell their touching stories as you walk along.
