Gîtes de France® pursues its actions and reinforces its values of solidarity and sharing

The Gîtes de France Initiatives endowment fund was created to support, promote and accompany local collective projects relating to the Environment in the broadest sense, such as the;health improvement, land protection, ecology, heritage protection and conservation, civic education, sustainable development, energy and the cultural sector... The corporate purpose is broad so that the endowment fund can intervene in various fields linked to the values of the Gîtes of France®.

Our owners throughout France are true ambassadors for their region and, through this fund, we want to offer them our support, as well as backing any associative projects they may be aware of, in the preservation and promotion of local heritage and know-how.
 

The Gîtes de France endowment fund® Initiatives supports the ZimZam association à through its social project

The ZimZam association offers circus workshops adapted to young people with disabilities in the PACA region. With the help of the Gîtes de France endowment fund® Initiatives, ZimZam will become the owner of a travelling big top to meet young people in the region, even those who are geographically isolated. The project aims to encourage their social inclusion by using the circus as a therapeutic tool.

Heritage enhancement thanks to the financial participation of Gîtes de France® Initiatives

The Gîtes de France endowment fund® Initiatives will be taking part in heritage enhancement in the commune of Sault (Vaucluse). Six communal washhouses have been renovated and the commune plans to install explanatory panels in 2024. These panels will highlight the history of the washhouses, their architecture and their social role. A brochure will also be distributed to promote this heritage.

Mobilisation in solidarity for Mayotte

In mid-December 2024, cyclone Chido hit Mayotte hard, leaving the population in distress. Faced with this emergency, we decided to take concrete action thanks to Gîtes de France® Initiatives. A Hello Asso fund has been set up to help the victims of the disaster, in conjunction with Secours populaire français, to which all the funds raised have been donated. Thanks to the mobilisation, generosity and commitment of the owners and Gicircuit agencies of France, a donation of 23,130 euros was made to Secours Populaire Français in solidarity with Mayotte following the cyclone. The donation was made directly to support the people affected by the cyclone, providing them with practical and essential assistance in this time of need. This action illustrates, once again, the strength of the Gîtes de France® network, united by human values and solidarity.

Gîtes de France® Initiatives supports the creation of Maison Symbiose

L’Association Symbiose has been retained by Gîtes de France® Initiative. This association aims to improve care and support for women with cancer and their carers by creating Maison Symbiose. This is a place where women and their carers can meet and get to know each other, located in the Côtes-d'Armor region. The aim of the centre is to support 80 patients and their carers each year, through regular individual and group workshops, and to give them time to themselves. Maison Symbiose opened its doors in September 2023 and has been awarded a cheque for 2,500€ by Gîtes de Frances® Initiatives.

Gîtes de France® Initiatives contributes to à heritage restoration

A donation of 2,500€ à été atribute; to enable the restoration of a élément patrimonial emblem of the gard, a cazelle. These dry stone huts were used by winegrowers and shepherds to protect themselves from the elements. The cazelle that will be restored is in the commune of Campestre-et-Luc, over time it has completely collapsed, even though it is regularly visited by tourists and locals.

Gîtes de France® Initiatives supports disaster victims in Turkey and Syria

Following the devastating earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria on Monday 6 February 2023, leaving thousands dead in both countries and significant, ongoing damage, Gîtes de France® Initiatives wanted to lend its support, via its network of committed owners and customers, by launching a new donation campaign. The sum raised has been entirely donated to Secours populaire Français, which, with its local partners, provides concrete and rapid support and solidarity to the disaster-stricken populations.

Gîtes de France® Initiatives sur la Route du Rhum

On the occasion of the 12th edition of the Route du Rhum, SAS Gîtes de France en Bretagne and Gîtes de France Initiatives are joining forces to offer the entire network, employees and owners alike, a fundraising campaign in aid of Mécénat Chirurgie Cardiaque Enfants du Monde which enables children with heart malformations from disadvantaged countries to undergo surgery in France when this is impossible in their own country due to a lack of technical or financial resources. To this end, Gîtes de France® Initiative has donated 5,623€. Thank you to the entire network for its mobilisation.
Support for Ukraine and its people!

Faced with the human drama currently unfolding on our doorsteps, Gîtes de France® Initiatives has decided to launch a fundraising campaign to help Ukraine. Thanks to the generosity of our network, the sum of 55,000 euros was donated in its entirety to Secours Populaire;e to Secours Populaire, which, with its local partners, provides concrete and rapid support and solidarity to the Ukrainian population through its missions and actions on the ground.

Gîtes de France Initiatives X I'm going, you're going, he's going

Created in October 2014, à the initiative of several tourism professionals, the endowment fund « Je pars, tu pars, il part » aims to facilitateès access to holidays and leisureà It does this by harnessing the energies not only of individuals but also of tourism and leisure service professionals through partnerships and fundraising.

For 2022, Gîtes de France Initiatives has decided to join forces with the foundation Je pars, tu pars, il part » by opening an online fundraising campaign. The 8,200 euros raised and donated to the Foundation will be used to finance the departure of disadvantaged families for 2023, to give them a little hope and enable them to cover our beautiful French territories!

The Foundation will also be involved in the launch of the "I'm off, you're off, he's off" campaign.

Gîtes de France Initiatives supports the fight against student poverty

In 2021, the Gîtes de France Initiatives endowment fund has decided to support the FAGE (Fédération des Associations Générales Etudiantes), an association whose aim is to guarantee student pre´galité des chances de réussite dans le système éducatif et qui se mobilise day after day pour lutter contre la précarité, afin d'améliorer les conditions de vie et d'études pour tous étudiants.

Gîtes de France Initiatives has made a commitment to them, funding projects to the tune of 5,450€ to support and éextend the’action of student associations mobilised throughout France against the consequences of the pandemic, through the opening of AGORAéThese are open to everyone and include a living space and a community shop accessible on the basis of social criteria, providing assistance with basic necessities and building social links. Supported and run by young people, for young people, AGORA are non-stigmatising places that work to improve opportunities for access to and success in higher education.

Gîtes de France Initiatives works to benefit carers

Following à the health crisis we have been through, the endowment fund Gîtes de France Initiatives has donated 6,600€ à the association Solidarité avec les Soignants. Created in 2020, at the height of the crisis, by Anne Roumanoff and Jean-Pierre Bansard, this association distributes protective equipment and helps to improve the day-to-day lives of carers, thanks to donations received: microwaves, kettles, coffee makers, recliners, tables and chairs..

The endowment fund supports Gîtaires de France® hard hit by the alex storm, in the Alpes-Maritimes

During the night of 01 to 02 October 2020, storm Alex hit the Alpes-Maritimes hard, leaving behind families in mourning and considerable material damage. The Gîtes de France owners have not been spared, particularly those whose accommodation is located in the Vésubie or Roya valleys, which have been totally devastated. Of the 173 shelters affected, some have been badly damaged or even completely destroyed, while others have been deprived of the infrastructure they need to function: drinking water, electricity, access roads, sewerage, etc.
 
Faced with this catastrophic situation, the Gites de France Initiatives endowment fund wanted to provide rapid financial support to owners affected by the storm. The day after the storm hit, the endowment fund launched a major fund-raising campaign via the Hello Asso website, as part of the Gîtes de France network. In just a few days, thanks to the generosity of the network (owners, employees, regional agencies) and hundreds of private individuals, the endowment fund was able to raise 42,400 euros. 51 owners Gîtes de France® stricken and identified by the Gîtes de France Alpes-Maritimes agency, will receive financial assistance from the endowment fund.
