The Gîtes de France Initiatives endowment fund was created to support, promote and accompany local collective projects relating to the Environment in the broadest sense, such as the;health improvement, land protection, ecology, heritage protection and conservation, civic education, sustainable development, energy and the cultural sector... The corporate purpose is broad so that the endowment fund can intervene in various fields linked to the values of the Gîtes of France®.

The Activ’Sport association, which specialises in sport for health, is setting up a number of initiatives to make physical exercise accessible to everyone, particularly people with disabilities and chronic illnesses. Through its Sport pour elles programme, it is targeting isolated women aged 20-50 living in the Kermoysan priority neighbourhood of Quimper in particular.
The second winner of the Gîtes de France endowment fund's call for projects® Initiatives, in the category « Sauvegarde du patrimoine »This monumental work, designed by artist Bernard de Fréminville, will feature a reconstruction of the village in the Napoleonic era. Located on the wall of the village hall, in the heart of the village and close to the market, it will become a major cultural and tourist landmark. The project is part of a wider drive to enhance the rural heritage and revitalise the area, by offering free, permanent access to a work of heritage, enabling local residents, walkers and visitors to discover the history of the area and its inhabitants;local history, and improving the living environment and supporting local economic development by making the town centre and its market more attractive.


A donation of 2,500€ à été atribute; to enable the restoration of a élément patrimonial emblem of the gard, a cazelle. These dry stone huts were used by winegrowers and shepherds to protect themselves from the elements. The cazelle that will be restored is in the commune of Campestre-et-Luc, over time it has completely collapsed, even though it is regularly visited by tourists and locals.
Following the devastating earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria on Monday 6 February 2023, leaving thousands dead in both countries and significant, ongoing damage, Gîtes de France® Initiatives wanted to lend its support, via its network of committed owners and customers, by launching a new donation campaign. The sum raised has been entirely donated to Secours populaire Français, which, with its local partners, provides concrete and rapid support and solidarity to the disaster-stricken populations.

Faced with the human drama currently unfolding on our doorsteps, Gîtes de France® Initiatives has decided to launch a fundraising campaign to help Ukraine. Thanks to the generosity of our network, the sum of 55,000 euros was donated in its entirety to Secours Populaire;e to Secours Populaire, which, with its local partners, provides concrete and rapid support and solidarity to the Ukrainian population through its missions and actions on the ground.
Created in October 2014, à the initiative of several tourism professionals, the endowment fund « Je pars, tu pars, il part » aims to facilitateès access to holidays and leisureà It does this by harnessing the energies not only of individuals but also of tourism and leisure service professionals through partnerships and fundraising.
For 2022, Gîtes de France Initiatives has decided to join forces with the foundation Je pars, tu pars, il part » by opening an online fundraising campaign. The 8,200 euros raised and donated to the Foundation will be used to finance the departure of disadvantaged families for 2023, to give them a little hope and enable them to cover our beautiful French territories!
In 2021, the Gîtes de France Initiatives endowment fund has decided to support the FAGE (Fédération des Associations Générales Etudiantes), an association whose aim is to guarantee pre´galité des chances de réussite dans le système éducatif et qui se mobilise day after day pour lutter contre la précarité, afin d'améliorer les conditions de vie et d'études pour tous étudiants. Gîtes de France Initiatives has made a commitment to them, funding projects to the tune of 5,450€ to support and éextend the’action of student associations mobilised throughout France against the consequences of the pandemic, through the opening of AGORAéThese are open to everyone and include a living space and a community shop accessible on the basis of social criteria, providing assistance with basic necessities and building social links. Supported and run by young people, for young people, AGORA are non-stigmatising places that work to improve opportunities for access to and success in higher education. Following à the health crisis we have been through, the endowment fund Gîtes de France Initiatives has donated 6,600€ à the association Solidarité avec les Soignants. Created in 2020, at the height of the crisis, by Anne Roumanoff and Jean-Pierre Bansard, this association distributes protective equipment and helps to improve the day-to-day lives of carers, thanks to donations: microwaves, kettles, coffee makers, recliners, tables and chairs..
