Come and stay in this gîte in Saumur with a view over the Loire! Just a 10-minute walk from the town centre and train station, you'll enjoy a natural setting and a garden that'll make you feel like you're in the countryside.
This former sailor's house was completely renovated in 2022, and opens onto a bright living room with a fully-equipped kitchen overlooking the Loire (oven, induction hob, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, etc.), and a lounge with sofa, armchairs and television (Netflix/Amazon). The ground floor bedroom has a double bed (160x200cm) and a bathroom with walk-in shower and washbasin. There is also a separate toilet on the ground floor.
Upstairs, the second bedroom has a double bed (160x200) and a terrace with uninterrupted views over the Loire. The open-plan bathroom has a large corner bath, double washbasin unit and WC.
There is a fully enclosed garden with garden furniture, deckchairs and barbecue, and you can also enjoy the banks of the Loire on the terrace below. Located on the island of Millocheau, in the heart of the Regional Nature Park, the royal river offers a landscape that changes with the seasons (sandbanks, floods, flora and fauna).
For your comfort, beds are made on arrival, towels are provided and the house is air-conditioned in summer.
Vintage-style adult bikes are available for hire on site (€5/day/person by prior arrangement). There is a leisure centre 350m from the gîte (supervised swimming in summer, canoes, etc.).
Saumur, a town of art and history, hosts numerous events throughout the year (Festivini, Anjou Vélo Vintage, etc.). You won't want to miss its château, one of the emblematic sites of the Loire châteaux, the famous Cadre Noir and its wine cellars. Near Saumur, there are many places to visit: the Royal Abbey of Fontevraud, the villages on the banks of the Loire (Montsoreau, Candes Saint Martin, etc.) and troglodyte sites.
