From the English Channel to the Atlantic

Over more than 600km, the Vélo Francette route runs through three regions: Normandy, Pays de la Loire and Poitou-Charentes, linking the English Channel with the Atlantic. The route passes through many towns with a rich historical and cultural heritage, including Caen, Flers, Laval, Angers, Saumur, Niort and La Rochelle.

In Anjou, the Vélo Francette reaches Angers then follows the wild river to à Saumur. It then heads south through Montreuil-Bellay before leaving Maine-et-Loire to reach the Marais Poitevin.

From the sources to the confluence of the Loir

The Vallée du Loir vélo route starts at the source of the Loir in Eure-et-Loir and follows the river to its confluence with the Loire at Angers. The route then joins the Vélo Loire circuit.

Gently undulating, it is ideal for discovering the landscapes of the Vallée du Loir, Pays d'Art et d'Histoire: meadows, vineyards, orchards, lakes, charming little villages and troglodytes...

320km long, the Vallée du Loir cycle route has been developed as a shared site on low-traffic lanes using small country roads, both overhanging and running alongside the water.
