Set in the wing of an elegant manor house, it offers an authentic and refined setting, ideal for recharging your batteries in the heart of nature. From the private garden, shaded by a hundred-year-old sequoia, you can enjoy uninterrupted views over the hillsides and savour the tranquillity of the Anjou countryside. Your hosts, passionate winegrowers, will be delighted to offer you a tour of the estate to discover the secrets of the vineyards and taste the wines that are so emblematic of the Layon region.
The gîte is an ideal base from which to explore the Loire Valley and its treasures: hillside walks and cycle rides, visits to wine cellars, majestic châteaux, troglodyte villages, medicinal herb gardens and the famous Doué-la-Fontaine Biopark, around 25 minutes away. Less than half an hour away is the remarkable Château de Brézé, renowned for its impressive troglodyte underground network, perfect for an original visit. For heritage lovers, the region is full of Loire châteaux and historic cellars to discover by car or by bike, as are the mansions and troglodytes of the Saumur-Layon area, just a short drive away.
Spacious and comfortable, the house can accommodate families and friends in a warm atmosphere. It has a fully-equipped kitchen (hob, traditional oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, filter and Senseo coffee makers, toaster, kettle), a cosy living room with fireplace and television. On the ground floor, the 'Cave' bedroom has a double bed, a bathroom with bath and WC and a private sauna. Upstairs, the "Barriques" room has a 140x190cm double bed and a single bed that can be used as an extra bed, with an en suite shower room, while the "Hangar" room can sleep up to four people (one 140x190cm bed and two 90x190cm beds) with its own shower room and en suite bathroom.
The living room opens onto a terrace shaded by a magnolia tree and an enclosed garden, perfect for outdoor meals or relaxing in the fresh air. Pets are welcome on request, and baby equipment (folding bed, high chair) can be provided. Baby equipment is available on request: folding bed and high chair.
