Just outside Angers, come and discover the Manoir de la Berthière, set in a charming 13th and 17th century residence. You'll enjoy the atmosphere of a château, but with all the comforts of the 21st century. It has been restored in the spirit of Monuments Historiques, combining local materials: tufa stone, slate and terracotta tiles. Located in the Anjou countryside in the middle of a hectare of natural parkland, planted with trees and flowers, reserved for the gîte, a haven for birds and squirrels.
On the ground floor, the gîte comprises a living/dining room with a tufa stone fireplace, ideal for winter days (wood available), a large fully-equipped kitchen (oven, microwave, induction hob, etc.), a bedroom with a 140x190cm double bed and a wooden cot, and a shower room with separate shower and WC.
Upstairs, you can enjoy a relaxing lounge with a library, French billiards table and table football. Located in the tower of the manor house, the second bedroom has two single beds (90x190cm) and the third has a double bed (140x190cm). A second bathroom with shower and WC is also located upstairs.
Outside, you'll find garden furniture, deckchairs, a gas hob, a petanque area and parking. You can also meet some animals: ponies, sheep, rabbits and ducks.
For families with children, the gîte has a swing and baby equipment (high chair, bath, changing table, cot).
During your stay, you can take a walk or cycle from the gîte and swim in the river Loir at the supervised beach (July-August) in Villevêque, 5 km away. Angers is about 15 km away. Further afield, you can discover the Loire Valley, its Châteaux, vineyards, Fontevraud Abbey, Saumur, the Cadre Noir, the Doué Biopark, the Puy du Fou...
