In the heart of the Anjou Touraine Regional Nature Park, 6km from Saumur, on the GR3 'Loire sauvage à pied' and Loire à vélo itineraries, the Clos Romans gîte overlooks the Loire on one side, offering a magnificent view over more than 10km from the hillside, and on the other the Saumur-Champigny vineyards, which stretch over more than 1,500 hectares between Saumur and Montsoreau. It opens onto a charming garden with a view over the Loire, incorporating the apse of an 11th-century church.
On the ground floor, the gîte opens onto a bright living room with a fully-equipped kitchen, a lounge area with sofa, club chairs and television, and a comfortable dining area. A bathroom with bath and separate WC are also located on the ground floor. Upstairs, there are two bedrooms: the first with two single beds (90cm x 190cm) and the second (with a magnificent view over the vineyards) with a 160cm x 200cm bed.
Outside, there are two splendid panoramic views: one over the Saumur vineyards at the front of the gîte, and the other over the Loire Valley and an 11th-century church at the back. The view is breathtaking! Garden furniture, barbecue and sun loungers are available. If you're keen on walking or cycling, the GR3 and the Loire cycle route pass right in front of this gîte in Parnay.
Nearby attractions include the Royal Abbey of Fontevraud (10 mins), Monstoreau (8 mins), Candes Saint Martin (9 mins) and Saumur, with its château overlooking the Loire and the famous Cadre Noir (10 mins). Along the Loire, you can discover many châteaux, including Saumur, Chinon, Azay-le-Rideau and Langeais.
