In the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional, between Saumur and Montsoreau, come and stay in this charming house surrounded by vineyards.
Between the Loire and the troglodyte mountains, in the small town of Turquant, you'll be ideally placed to discover all the region has to offer: troglodyte houses, the Loire and its magnificent landscapes, winegrowing and the art of horse-riding with the Cadre Noir de Saumur.
Completely refurbished in 2022, this gîte comprises a large, bright living room with a fully-equipped kitchen (induction hob, oven, fridge, etc.), a dining area and a lounge with large picture windows overlooking the garden. On the ground floor, you will also find a toilet with washbasin, a shower room with walk-in shower, vanity unit and toilet, and a bedroom with a 160x200cm double bed. The other two bedrooms with sloping ceilings are located upstairs: one is 9m² and has a double bed 140x190cm and the other is 5.5m² and has a single bed 90x190cm.
Outside, you'll enjoy a private enclosed garden and large terrace in a quiet, pleasant setting with views over the vines and the semi-troglodytic cave mill. The owners, who live next door to the gîte, will be delighted to tell you all about the history of this characteristic 16th-century Anjou mill.
Don't forget your bikes and equipment: the Loire à Vélo cycle route is just 2 km away, and there's a bike shed for your use. For your comfort, beds are made on arrival and towels are provided.
Just a few minutes from the gîte, don't miss the village of Candes Saint Martin, where you can admire the white tufa stone, or take a trip along the river on a traditional gabare.
Take advantage of your stay at Turquant to recharge your batteries or discover the châteaux of the Loire Valley: the Royal Abbey of Fontevraud is 5 minutes away, the château of Chinon is 25 minutes away and the châteaux of Villandry and Azay le Rideau are 40 minutes away. Would you prefer to spend a day at a leisure park? Center Parcs is 25 minutes away, the Terra Botanica plant park 1 hour, Futuroscope 1 hour 10 minutes and Puy du Fou 1 hour 30 minutes.
